Jesus- Selfless Friend (Children’s Devotional)
JESUS – SELFLESS FRIEND
TEXT: Gal 4:4-7, Ephesians 1: 3-7
Dying for His friends’ sins was more than enough sacrifice, but He did not stop at just dying to save His friends from sin or from going to hell; He came to give His friends a place in the family of God. He came so that His friends could be adopted, and accepted into His family as His own brothers and sisters. They would not only become His brothers and sisters but they would also be given a portion of all the blessings and power that He has as the Son of God.
He did not just want them to be in His family, He wanted them to enjoy all that He enjoys as the son of the King of kings. Can you imagine the great wealth (blessings) and power the kings of this world have? Then, God–King above all the kings of the earth–must have much more wealth and power than all kings on earth can ever gather. Jesus – God’s only begotten son–chose to share all this great treasure with His friends after He had already died for them. What a caring, sharing, and selfless friend Jesus must be!
Declare: I am an heir of God and joint heir with Christ. I have access to the wealth and blessings of the Father through Jesus Christ, my Saviour, and friend.
