Evangelism: Price for the Prize
Evangelism: Price for the Prize
Text: 1Corinth 9:23-25, James 1:12, 1Peter 5:2-4, 2Timothy 4:8
Memory Verse: “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain”. 1Corinthians 9:24
Every genuine child of God who is serving him with all their hearts; are on a journey. A journey to eternity with God; this journey begins the moment we surrender our lives to Jesus. It continues as we live our lives and work faithfully for God; and of course there are rewards for faithful service. Some of these rewards will be gotten here on earth while some will be given to us in heaven; but to get these rewards we have to pay a price.
The price we are talking about here is; evangelism and faithful service to the work of God. Telling people about Jesus is our mandate and living a holy life will help us get the rewards. Taking time out every day to pray for lost souls is also a price, sharing tracts on the streets and in public transport is also a price, serving the Lord diligently and faithfully is a price, being obedient to parents, teachers and elders is a price, being persecuted for righteousness sake is also a price, being ridiculed and mocked by people you are preaching to is also a price. These prices are not easy to offer, so you must make up your mind as a child of God that no matter what happens, you will never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
Mediation : I am not ashamed of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you?
