Distinguishing Mark Of God’s Children

Romans 8:14.

One key distinguishing mark of a son or daughter of God is how well they respond to the leading of the Spirit of God (Rom. 8:14). In 2024, you must prioritize being led by the Holy Spirit so that you achieve all that is in the plan and the purpose of God for you in this New Year. Your first responsibility as a child of God in relating with the Spirit of God is to follow his leading.
Your safety as a Christian this year will be directly connected to your ability to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. In Luke 3, Jesus waited for the Holy Spirit to come upon Him and when the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus as He stepped out of the River Jordan, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and a voice from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Luke 3:21-22)” and shortly afterward, the Bible says, “Jesus was led of the Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1).”
One key secret of the success of Jesus’ ministry was that He followed the Spirit of God. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise”
If the Holy Spirit led Jesus to execute His earthly assignment, then that is a pattern and a standard we must emulate as sons and daughters of God. So, I ask you again: Who is leading you as a child of God? Emotions? Experience? Education? Energy? Logical Abilities? I ask again: who is leading you?
John 3:8, Psalms 32:8, Ezekiel 3:12, Rev 1:10.

John 3:8 – The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Psalm 32: 8 – I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Ezekiel 3:12 – Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: “Blessed is the glory of the LORD from His place!”

Rev 1:10 – I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,

CONFESSION: Lord, I am a son/daughter in this Kingdom and want to be led by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I now surrender the leadership of my life to you, lead me and I will follow! Amen.
