Ways to pray Part II
Text: Matthew 6:9-13.
Memory Verse: This, then, is how you should pray: Matthew 6:9
We examined prayer of Adoration, thanksgiving, confession. vows and quiet reflection yesterday. Today we would continue on the series with prayer of healing. deliverance and help, intercession, and blessing.
Prayer for Healing: This type of prayer is said when we seek restoration for our physical bodies, spiritual life or emotional wounds; Jeremiah 17:14.
Prayer for Deliverance and Help: When we face challenges, hardship or oppression, we often pray for deliverance and breakthrough humbly asking God to help us out of difficult situations; Psalms 107:6.
Prayer of Intercession: Praying for others is very important for every Christian. The Bible instructs us to pray for one another and intercede on behalf of someone else. Jesus is our perfect example as He prayed for those that persecuted and arrested Him; Colossians 1:9-12.
Prayer for Transformation: As Christians who love Jesus and desire to live like Him and according to His ways, prayers for transformation from everything that doesn’t please Him is important; Psalms 139:23-24.
Prayer of Blessing: Prayers of blessing are found throughout the scriptures and are powerful ways to ask for God’s best to be poured out on us; Philippians 1:9-11.
In conclusion, Prayer is a conversation with God and our conversations are usually different depending on the motivation, meaning and purpose. That is why we can find a variety of Prayers in the Bible. We can always go to the Bible to learn how to pray and develop our prayer lives, and to allow prayer make our relationship with Jesus fruitful and beautiful.
Pray: Teach me to pray always Lord.! (Men ought to pray always and not to faint.)
