Strength And Power From God
Strength And Power From God
Psalm 68:35
“O God, thou art terrible” The first section of this verse shows God’s terribleness (awesomeness, profound majesty). His countenance is indescribable, His glory unmatchable and His splendor unfathomable. Psalm 47:2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. This should give believers great joy to know that we truly serve a great and omnipotent King that none can equal in power, majesty, and glory. Praise the Lord!
“He giveth strength and power”. The Lord is the giver of all things. He is a benevolent God who is gracious in mercy and truth. Strength and power are words used interchangeably but have different meanings especially when used together as we see from the text. Strength depicts capability and power depicts ability. Many believers exhibit power and ability with a small residue of strength and capability (capacity) in the place of prayer and devotion. This will only result in a short burst of victory that fizzle out and leads to despondency and spiritual poverty. God’s grace is sufficient to provide for both capacity for strength and ability in power.
