Moses became a fugitive – Moses’ life was in Danger and he fled to Midian
Text Exodus 2: 11-25:
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 1:19 – 20 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
God wants the child to know that on this journey of life, we must lay aside the weight of anger and bitterness so we can be used by Him.
What do you think happened to Moses after he killed the Egyptian and it was found out that he had killed someone? What do you think should happen to someone who killed a person?
You were right! Moses’ life was in danger. Pharaoh wanted to kill him so he ran away to Midian because he had done something really bad. No matter the situation we find ourselves, there is no justification to commit sin. Sin separates us from God and sometimes, sin separates us from those who love and care about us. In Midian, he met Jethro (Reuel) who gave his daughter as a wife to Moses. Moses became a husband to Zipporah and they had a son named Gershom. Back in Egypt, the children of Israel groaned under the burden of their oppression and they cried unto God and God heard and remembered them. God acknowledged them. Never forget to call upon God when things are stressful and unbearable for you.
Anger is dangerous. Do you have root of bitterness? Ask God this morning to deal with anger in your life. Amen.
