Jesus – The Understanding Friend
TEXT: Heb. 2:17-18 "Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted."
Have you ever tried to explain how you feel to a close friend, you use the simplest words you can think of, and after all the effort they still don’t understand how you feel? Jesus decided to come in human form so He would understand you better every time you share your experiences with Him.
He understands how you feel when your friends betray you when you are hungry or in pain, homeless or rejected, hurting or dying. Jesus came, not just to die for your sins, but to understand what you are going through so He would know how best to encourage, soothe and heal you – what a unique friend He is!!!
Declaration: Lord, thank you for giving me a friend like Jesus, who understands me. I enjoy His comfort in every situation, knowing He understands what I’m going through; Amen.
