Text: Isaiah 41:13 “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
All through scriptures, we are reminded of God’s ever present help, of His ability to show up for us every time. Why then do most Christians still act like they are ignorant of this promise? It is most likely because they allude to the deception that they are perpetually under a siege and give too much credit to their own personal abilities. If a man takes God out of the equation, he definitely will meet a dead end.
Another reason is that we compartmentalize our needs into two. That is, what we can do by our strength and what we need God’s help for. This is why a believer may not remember to pray when he has a headache but instead rush to take his drugs and then when he is faced with another health challenge that he considers ‘big’, he runs to God and prays a panic induced prayer.
A child ought to depend solely on his father and trust in his ability to help him. We must learn to trust God for our daily living and ask Him for help (Matt. 7:7). God should not be an option or our last resort.
A believer must recognize God’s ability to help him in ALL situations. Rest is assured for God’s people (Heb. 4:9-11). Let us therefore make every effort to enter into this rest. I can testify of God’s help when we totally depend on Him.
