Who Am I? – Finding My Identity In Christ
Who Am I? – Finding My Identity In Christ
Psalms 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
At creation, God made man in His own image. He made man to be like Himself and not like an animal and He put His breath into his nostrils and man became a living soul. That means nobody comes to life on his/her own, nobody lives by mistake. God was intentional about your creation. That’s awesome!
But then sin came in and distorted the image and nature of God in man, leaving man on the brink of eternal loss. But the love of God found him and now he offers us redemption through the blood of the sacrificial Lamb of God- Jesus Christ. Man as a free moral agent has the freedom of making his choice. You can choose from right and wrong. But God wants us to choose him as our Lord. God wants us to look like Him as a child looks like his/her parent.
Jesus Christ was the human expression of God’s glory, the true demonstration of God’s original creation. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. His death and glorification has paved the way for us to be restored to the original intent of God for our creation- John 1:12,13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right(power) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The true worship of God is achieved by a man who has received Christ and daily exhibit Christ-like character in all his ways.
The person you look like will surely show in your character and your ways of life. If you have Christ in you, you will surely behave like Christ and if anyone has the old nature of sin inside him/her, he will behave like the first man of sin- the devil. I John 3:7-9 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Meditation/Prayer: Who do you look like in your attitude at home, in the public and everywhere you go? Lord, come into my heart so that I can look like you.
