What are you rooted in?
What are you rooted in?
Ephesians 3:14-19
Key Text: “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,” Ephesians 3:17
In what a tree is rooted in matters to its growth and rate of production. A tree rooted in a dry land, though might show some level of growth, yet, it cannot be compared to another planted by the rivers of water; surely, he will bring forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither.
Like a tree, as important as our root may be what we are rooted in is much more important as it defines our level of growth and production both spiritually and physically. Upon the land we are rooted in, is the determinant to the level of our constant yield of fruits.
Paul in his epistle to the Ephesians church prayed that God would grant His people to be rooted and grounded in love, for upon that can they understand the breadth, length, depth, and height of God’s riches and love.
Are you rooted in Christ or rooted in the world? Are you rooted in grace, faith, and love? Or is your root deep in worldly lust, hatred, covetousness, and other works of the devil?
Your growth and formation will certainly rot if your root is deep in the world, but if it is in Christ, you have an abundant divine supplement to bring forth riches, revival and renewal to your soul, and a great access to receive God’s goodness.
REFLECTION FOR THE DAY: Being rooted in Christ, we have access to heavenly blessings.
