The Secured Mind: An Antidote For Worry
The Secured Mind: An Antidote For Worry
Text: Philippians 4:4–7
Key Text: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)
Being worried over the situation of life is something that weakens the health system of a man, and wearies the soul. Only a secured mind of man is the antidote to get this devastating depression away.
But having a secured mind can only be by the perfect approach laid down before us in our text. This approach are the laid down conditions towards having a secured mind, and our victory is certain by it.
We need to have three rights that must be rightly exercised in our soul. We must rightly pray to the Lord: one that comprises prayer, supplication and thanksgiving. We must have a right-thinking, meditating upon whatsoever things are true, honest, lovely, of good report and pure; our thoughts must be on the Lord and all that He has done and His promises for us.
Lastly, our living must be right both in the sight of God and man. While we may have learned a truth which is the word of God, we must receive it inwardly and let it mix with our faith, and be part of our inner man. Only the readers and the doers of the word will have inner peace for nothing shall hurt or offend them.
When we have these three conditions fulfilled, we have a secured mind where the peace of God that passeth all understanding rules.
REFLECTION FOR THE DAY: Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything!
