How to Grow In Christ (Part 4)
How to Grow In Christ (Part 4)
Memory Verse: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Spend time with God in prayer
Text: Matthew 26:41; Luke 18:1
Jesus told the disciples that the only way to overcome temptation was by being deliberate about their prayer life. The spiritual alertness needed to easily spot a temptation, and the power to say no to it is released to you in your prayer place. So not planning to pray is planning to fall into sin. Prayer is also the way you show God you need His power to overcome other problems of life. Not praying is choosing to be drowned by life’s troubles. Only when you dedicate time to pray every day you will not be overtaken by the evil of any kind.
ACTION: Fix at least three (3) prayer times during your active hours each day without fail. For example, when you wake up, on your way to or from school, and before you sleep.
