Gaining Winning Strides Through Supernatural Strength
Gaining Winning Strides Through Supernatural Strength
Jeremiah 12:5; 1 Kings 18:46.
The first text poses a critical question for our consideration: “If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses”? Footmen and horses here represent the different levels of races. While the former implies a seemingly balanced or well-known adversary, the latter depicts an adversary that outclass an individual (you and I). The second text above shows us an example of a man who received divine strength and showed us the physical possibility of outrunning horses. There are so many races that men are running today and no one is exempted- 1 Corinthians 10:13a (MSG) No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face.
We are physically running diverse races for economic, financial, career, family, and societal emancipation. Also, there’s the race for spiritual freedom, breakthrough, victory, deliverance, and acceptable service to God. No human strength or inventions can substantially bear to cover these without losing out, tiring out, and eventually ending in regrets- Psalm 52:7; Jeremiah 17:5 Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. However, there’s a prescribed mechanism that assures total victory and winful results in all of life’s ramifications. This is total dependence and reliance on God- Psalm 18:2; 20:7. This feat does not become effective through mere pronouncements but through a consistent and robust relationship with God- Numbers 12:7,8; 14:8. It is from the abundance of the grace we obtain in the place of fellowship and devotion to God, that we strength to live victoriously and run adequately each day.
