Stay On The Path
Stay On The Path
Text: Luke 10:42 “But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
At the point where we receive Christ, he set us on a path and hopes that we continue on that path. This path leads to him after our surgeon on Earth. Psalms 16 verse 11 calls it the path of life: ” Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
What sets us apart from the world is that if we stay on this path, we will have peace, joy and assurance that one day we shall be like Him and with Him.
The system of this word is programmed to derail us from the path. Little wonder why we are reminded in John 17:16 that we are not of this world. We must therefore guard our hearts against sin.
Mary and Martha lived in a time when the savior was physically with them but it seemed as though Martha was more interested in the recognition and validation of being merely identified with Jesus. On the other hand, Jesus observed that Mary needed that which was needful to live a life acceptable by the Lord.
How many times have we wandered out of the path of life and focused on fame or men’s validation?
Worse still a man may look as though he is close to Jesus because he works in church or identifies with the Christian faith but he was never on the path. This is the greatest tragedy on earth.
Beloved have you found the path? If you have, stay on it!
