Evangelism: The Great Commission (II)
Evangelism: The Great Commission (II)
Text: Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 1:16, 1Corinth 1:17.
Memory Verse: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
The Great Commission is a command: Many people seem to misunderstand the Great Commission; they think it is just a suggestion and not a command. Well it is a command! One that should be obeyed fully; Jesus Christ did not say to the disciples “I think if you want, you can go to all the nations of the world and teach them what I have taught you” rather he said “go ye therefore and teach all nations”. Since it is a command, we all need to obey it and tell the world around us about Jesus Christ. Imagine if the disciples had not obeyed; perhaps we all would not know about Jesus Christ and all the wonderful things he did and is still doing for us. So make a conscious decision today to tell everyone around you about Jesus Christ and how much He loves them and died for them. Do not forget that refusing to obey the Great Commission is a sin; you have been saved to bring others to the knowledge of salvation James 5:20. This reminds me of a song I sang a lot while growing up in church; it talks about the Great Commission so sing along if you know the song:
Go and tell them, go and tell them that
Jesus died for the sinful world
Go and tell them, go and tell them
He is coming back again.
Activity: Have you told your friends, classmate, neighbour about Christ saving grace? Tell it to the world how He saved you. If you are not saved yet, ask Him into your life first before you tell others.
