The Ten Commandments – the 7th Commandment
The Ten Commandments – the 7th Commandment
Text: Exodus 20:14-15, Deuteronomy 5:18-19.
Memory Verse: Exodus 20:14: You shall not commit adultery.
Thou shall not commit adultery
Exodus 20:14, Mark 10:6-12: Adultery simply means when a married man or woman has an affair with someone who is not their husband or wife. God totally hates it when a married man or woman decides to have an affair with someone who they are not married to, that is why He commanded the children of Israel not to commit adultery. In Genesis 2:23-24, God instituted the first marriage and said that the two shall be one; meaning that they should be together forever until death separates them. In Mark 10:10-12, Jesus explained to his disciples again about adultery; telling them that any man or woman that sends away his wife or her husband, is committing adultery. God gave us the gift of marriage, and he wants every married person to honour that commitment because it is a way of honouring him.
Prayer: God help me to keep each of your commandment in my heart and to walk by them. Amen
