Look unto Jesus
Text: Hebrews 12:1-2
key text: “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” HEBREWS 12:2
It is common for humans to have someone they look up to either as a role model, mentor or greatly respect. There have been situations when someone just really loves what someone else is doing and decides to follow in the steps of such an individual.
In the Christian race, believers may have people they see as leaders, heads, and the likes but such people must never replace the person of Jesus in their lives.
The only personality we are permitted to look up to, follow his steps, do as he says, and do what he wants is Jesus Christ because He is the one in whom no fault was found while He was on earth. You will likely find a fault in the lives of your guardians, spiritual leaders, mentors and heads.
It is looking unto Jesus at all times that will enable believers to also persevere; looking unto Jesus alone will rekindle the hope of the believer that just as Jesus overcame, the believer will also overcome. Men have disappointed their fellow men and this would not stop. Only Jesus will never let you down, so look unto him for all the strength and help you may need on your journey and you will marvel at how greatly you will be strengthened and helped.
Reflection For The Day: No other man is a perfect example of living a glorious life while on earth. Jesus is the only example we have.
