Set The Lord Before Thee

Set The Lord Before Thee

TEXT: PSALM 16:8-11

KEY TEXT: “I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” PSALM 16:8 (KJV)

Having God before us is to have an assurance of secured safety and serenity of life. By making God be at our right hand, we have a confidence that nothing can move or terrify us. The fear of darkness or pestilence shall not shake us, for the Lord who is before us will surely be our covering.

All those who desire and enjoy the presence of God will certainly have gladness of heart, and a reason to rejoice. In this present world, the eternal hope shall be the rest of their flesh, and when their body fails and their eyes are closed in death, their soul shall never be left in hell neither will the Holy One who has called them from darkness into the marvellous light suffer them to see corruption.

As they journey onward in faith, having Christ as the mighty captain leading them, they shall be under the guidance of the heavenly host, and they shall have revelation on the right path to take for God who is before them shall show them the path of life, and the pleasure of life shall be their portion forever.

Beloved, seeing all these things which the Lord has prepared for all those who would put Him first, let us make it our desire to do that. To make intimacy with God our priority; let us see to it that before us is no idol or image but Christ Jesus.

REFLECTION FOR THE DAY: The closer you are to Christ, the closer you get to His blessings.

1 Let me come closer to Thee, Jesus,
Oh, closer day by day;
Let me lean harder on Thee, Jesus,
Yes, harder all the way.

2 Let me show forth Thy beauty, Jesus,
Like sunshine on the hills!
Oh, let my lips pour forth Thy sweetness
In joyous, sparkling rills!

3 Yes, like a fountain, precious Jesus,
Make me and let me be;
Keep me and use me daily, Jesus,
For Thee, for only Thee.

4 In all my heart and will, O Jesus,
Be altogether King!
Make me a loyal subject, Jesus,
To Thee in every thing.

5 Thirsting and hung’ring for Thee, Jesus,
With blessed hunger here,
Looking for home on Zion’s mountain,
No thirst, no hunger there.

Amen.
