Moses became a fugitive (III)
Moses became a fugitive
Text: Exodus 4: 18 to 6:13
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 1:19 – 20 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Moses went back to Egypt and visited Pharaoh
Moses went back to Egypt after taking permission from Jethro, his father-in-law and after God instructed him to go back because those who wanted to kill him were dead. God also instructed Aaron to meet Moses on his way. God is truly a loving God who is always ahead of us to make our path straight as we obey him Proverbs 3: 5-7. Moses told Aaron all that the Lord told him and they gathered all the elders of the children of Israel to tell them. They performed the miracles and the elders were convinced. Afterwards, Moses and Aaron went to visit Pharaoh to release the children of Israel as God instructed Moses but Pharaoh reacted by giving more tasks to the already stressed children of Israel who he had turned to slaves. God assured Moses that He would surely deliver the children of Israel with his strong and mighty hands Exodus 6:6-8.
The children of Israel did not listen to Moses because they were in great agony. Things were getting worse right after they thought God had visited them.
Moses kept faith in God who called him. He did not resort to anger. He went back to God for what to do and we will get to see what next during our next lesson.
Prayer: God , please give us the mind to always return to you whenever we stray. Amen
