God’s battle axe.
God’s battle axe.
Jeremiah 51:20 You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you will I break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms.
There’s a warfare that the Lord is calling us to partake in. This is the war against unrighteousness, against the elements of darkness, and all falsehood. He’s actively recruiting able men who are ready and willing to throw their lives into the forefront of the battle in defense of the glorious banner of Christ. There are four things to consider in the life of God’s battle axe: his/her qualification, his capacity, his availability, and his readiness.
First, the qualification of God’s battle axe. The single basic criterion that qualifies for consideration is redemption. All intending and prospective candidates for God’s army must pass the ‘blood washing’ process and must have their sins obliterated, obtaining grace to live in continual righteousness and holiness unto God. Luke 1:74-75 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
Capacity is enhanced in the place of intimacy and continual devotion in prayer and study of the word. The training ground of any believer is in the secret place of unrestrained, constant, and intimate interaction with the Spirit of God. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD. How far and how well we fight is largely dependent on the capacity we have accumulated on our training ground.
The availability of a tool or a weapon for God’s usage is his intentional pursuit and presence for the accomplishment of God’s purpose- 2 Timothy 2:20-21 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
The readiness of a vessel is the watchful waiting to be called upon to act on God’s behalf and be an avenue through which the glory of God is expressed. Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.
