Christian dressing
Christian dressing
Ephesians 6:10-18.
Our physical life is an analogy of what our spirit beings are. In the physical, we sleep, wake, clean up, and eat, we may do some little chores within and without our environment; this procession may also be applied to our spirit being.
The Bible says He gives good things to his beloved in sleep, which means there’s a time to rest as God showed us in Genesis 2:2,3. There’s a need to get rested from our work and focus on God for sanctification. We wake up and get ready for another new day’s work in another strength. One of the differences we have that is separate from animals is that we have the ability and choice to change our clothes when due and get them renewed every time. And this applies to all human beings. There are many importance of this covering which includes: protection, beauty, health and many more. This pertains to our spirit being too. We can’t afford to wear a cloth for a week without cleaning even if it is just only one available for us. The Spirit in us was lent to us by God and we will give an account one day. For everyone born of God, there is a plan of God for us concerning our life and It should not be heard of us that our spirits are opened or susceptible to danger due to lack of proper covering.
The expected covering of a Christian is found in Eph. 6:11-18 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
The basis of our dressing stands on this. Whatever material or style or ornament we want to put on must find its basis in this scripture because our adversary seeks for whom he may devour night and day. Once the basis is settled, then other elements will fall in line.
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God”- The Kingdom of God should be paramount in our thoughts and our plans. Whatever clothing we wear, truth and breastplate of righteousness must pinpoint the best clothing for each event to make one look decent and chaste. Gospel shoe will tell which outing or event you can attend, and the helmet of salvation brings out the beauty and glory of God over us.
Meditation
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me,
All his wonderful passion and purity,
O thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine,
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.
