A pleasing life
A pleasing life
TEXT: GENESIS 35:1-5
KEY TEXT: “And they journeyed: the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.” GENESIS 35:5 (KJV)
“When a man’s way please the Lord, he maketh his enemies to be at peace with him,” says King Solomon. When a life doesn’t have things God hates such life must surely receive the peace of God.
The call of God is not without the taking away of that which are not God, and when we are called by God, our answer to His Call first starts from the place of cleansing and removal of all that does not glorify Him.
Jacob, called by God to go and worship Him at Bethel, turned to his household, and sought for the removal of all strange gods that are among His people, and to as well change their garments. This the Lord saw, and caused their enemies to be filled with terror as they journey on.
Holiness brings blessing to every lives, and much more, he makes the enemy to be terrified, and be at peace with us. When our lives is at peace with God, he makes every other things peaceful.
Therefore, as individual, let your lives be pleasing to God; take away filthy garments. By this cleansing shall God make you to be fill with peace, and none of your adversary shall be able to stand before thee.
REFLECTION FOR THE DAY: A God’s pleasing life enjoys a peaceful living. Lord let my life be such that pleases you at all time in Jesus name. Amen!
