A new dispensation of grace (Grace series 1)
A new dispensation of grace (Grace series 1)
Ephesians 1:4-7.A new dispensation usually signifies that a previous archaic way or practice has been re-evaluated and re-engineered towards a better, efficient yield rather than a complete obliteration. This is expressed in the translation of believers in God from the old dispensation of the law into a new dispensation of grace in Christ Jesus. The objective of the Old Testament was to produce a viable and righteous people unto God. This objective still subsists in the new order, albeit in a better way through the grace administered by virtue of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Matthew 5:17-19.The events of the cross defined the turnover of dispensation. First, the sacrifice of the lamb of God “once for all” which replaced the repeated offering of animals by the priest- Hebrews 9:11-14 (key verse -12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption); then the tearing of the veil of the tabernacle to signify the ease of approach to the holy of holies- Mark 15:38. Thus, we can now approach the throne of God to obtain the needed grace procured through the sacrifice of Christ to live acceptable righteous lives to God. We are called into newness in Christ, totally depending on His finished work of grace to live our lives there by Romans 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. Therefore, the expected posture of every believer is in the newness and grace of the new covenant.
