Living Above The Cares Of Life

Living Above The Cares Of Life

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” 1Pet 5:7 AMP

There is no godly justification to ignore the possibility of cares or concerns for God’s children. As pilgrims on this glorious and eternal train, occasionally, we are met with cares that would desire to, if not arrested, overwhelm us. Sometimes, the cares get so daring that they whisper in loud voice of defeats to our ears as if, God has just vacated His throne; other times, they may come in a very calm as in a flash of thoughts to you when praying, and the presence of this tool of the Devil depressed your prayer and cause a withdrawal. Oh, such a great weapon to the Devil- cares!

To live above the cares of life, we have an obligation to cast ALL of our cares on Him who cares for us. It would have been difficult were it to be that only Peter made this claim on Jesus’s behalf to the saints of his days, asking them, as today we are encouraged also, to cast ALL concerns on Him. But our Lord Jesus Himself had in fact laid the foundation of this discuss to all believers with an injunction, saying, Do not worry and be anxious…” (Matt 6:31 AMP), O that we can take His word in its truth value and repose our implicit trust on Him; we will live above the cares of life.

Do not worry and be anxious…”This is anassurance Jesus made for all His children, for reasoning, He asked, can anxiety provide a foetus to a barren womb; or shall it suffice in providing the much needed needs for a poor home; will it increase the little or reduce a burden? NO. Rather, the longer we are anxious, the farther from our blessings we are. Do not worry and be anxious… Instead, trust Him in faith.

We will not be able to live above the cares of life, if our faith in Him is wobbling, in an age that is troubled like today, we need a resounding faith that can hush the noise of anxiety, we need a firm trust in our Lord, believing that ALL His word can be trusted, we need a reassurance through prayers on his promise that says, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”

  1. Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
    Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
    When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
    • Refrain:
      I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
      For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
  2. “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
    And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
    Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
  3. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
    When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
    I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
