Lively instructions for safeguarding the future.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
We often reckon ourselves wise and experienced when making decisions in life. But we can only guarantee a positive outcome for such choices with divine examination and counsel. The essence of instructional manuals and guides is for the proper dispensation of information and knowledge to forestall misdirection or misuse of certain entities. It’s no different for our Christian journey, that is why the Lord has provided us with the scriptures as His established code of conduct and judgment- 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. No degree of human civilization or invention can ever discredit or challenge the sacred writ of the Bible, neither can we change or improve on the standards of the Lord through our human-enhanced capacity and knowledge- 2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
One of the prime way to safeguard our future destiny is our availability in the place of devotion and fellowship with God. We must always be at the place where the word of God can reach us. An example is the direction Elijah received in 1 Kings 17:1-9. The phrase “and the word of the Lord came unto him” was mentioned in verses 2 and 8 to signify the receipt of important instruction and direction to save Elijah’s life from the drought. He never questioned the veracity of God’s instructions nor reasoned them out, he just promptly obeyed. Another example is found in Joshua and the Israelite as they approach Jericho in Joshua 6. The instructions were near ridiculous but they didn’t hesitate to obey as long as it originated from God. The results show that simple obedience to divine instruction guarantees ultimate victory and success every time and in every generation. How much time do we waste when we dilly-dally about the truths of the scriptures and keep allowing our own fickle human wisdom to derail us from the pathway of obedience.
In conclusion, we must make sure to maintain a living altar to be able to receive daily instructions from the Lord- Exodus 29:42-43 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.
