The Full Benefit Of God’s Love
The Full Benefit Of God’s Love
Ephesians 3:16-19.
The fullness of God is essentially expressed and experienced at the point when our inner man (our spirit) who is the original creature becomes strengthened by the Holy Spirit’s indwelling/perfusion. This in turn restores the rich divine-human koinonia which engenders a complete submission of love and comprehension above human understanding.
God is love and His prime dealing with man is on the basis of His love. Therefore, receiving God’s love into our hearts and living thereby is the pivot on which our Christian life can flourish. According to our text, the fullness of God is achieved in 3 congruent ways: The reception of Christ’s nature in the inner man; the strengthening (transformation) of the inner man thereby; And, The revelation of Christ through knowledge and comprehension.
The inner man is the true identity of any man before God. The quickening of the Holy Spirit brings this entity to life as soon as a man becomes born again- Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. His sustenance and growth are solely dependent on his continuous interaction with the life of God at the threshold of prayer, word study, and service to the kingdom- 2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. More depth and revelations of God’s love and works are revealed as we continue steadfastly in an intimate unbroken relationship with the Holy Spirit- Ephesians 1:17-19.
1 | The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin. |
O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song. | |
2 | When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall; When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call; God’s love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race— The saints’ and angels’ song. |
3 | Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky. |
