Conditions To Enjoying Divine Healing And Health
Conditions To Enjoying Divine Healing And Health
Exodus 15:26; Jeremiah 33:6.
Divine healing and health are benefits to be enjoyed by the children of God but many fall short of receiving these benefits because they fail to continually fulfill the attached conditions. Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Christ Jesus has fully paid for our healing through His vicarious sacrifice on the cross. So we have full access to enjoying good health if we fulfill our own expected role. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed.
We see from the text in Exodus 15:26 that God made a promise of health to the children of Israel after they came out from the Egyptian bondage, but there were attached conditions upon which the fulfillment was hinged. These are:
“Diligently hearken to the voice of God”– The voice of God is God’s call to repentance and continual walk with Him (Luke 5:32). Repentance and genuine salvation are the foremost prerequisites to enjoy divine health.
“Do that which is right in His sight” means to walk acceptably before God blameless and in righteousness Psalm 1:1,3.
“Give ear to His commandment”– This is hearing and prompt obedience to all the laws, ordinances, and precepts written in the word. We are to constantly hear, meditate upon and evidently perform all the unchangeable words of the scriptures.
And finally, “Keep all His statutes”– These are the revealed laws of divine worship. God requires that we give reverence to His presence and His name in worship and service to Him.
1. Hear the footsteps of Jesus,
He is now passing by,
Bearing balm for the wounded,
Healing all who apply;
As he spake to the suff’rer
Who lay at the pool,
He is saying this moment,
“Wilt thou be made whole?”
Refrain
Wilt thou be made whole?
Wilt thou be made whole?
O come, weary suff’rer,
O come, sin-sick soul;
See, the life-stream is flowing,
See, the cleansing waves roll,
Step into the current, and thou shalt be whole.
2 ‘Tis the voice of that Saviour,
Whose merciful call
Freely offers salvation
To one and to all:
He is now beck’ning to him
Each sin-tainted soul,
And lovingly asking,
“Wilt thou be made whole?” [Refrain]
3 Are you halting and struggling,
O’erpowered by your sin,
While the waters are troubled
Can you not enter in?
Lo, the Saviour stands waiting
To strengthen your soul,
He is earnestly pleading,
“Wilt thou be made whole?” [Refrain]
4 Blessed Saviour, assist us
To rest on thy word;
Let the soul-healing power
On us now be out-poured:
Wash away ev’ry sin-spot,
Take perfect control,
Say to each trusting spirit,
“Thy faith makes thee whole.” [Refrain]
