Strength From Above
Strength from Above
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. (1Sam 30:6)
The story of David in 1 Sam 30 is a reflection of a life of every Christian. God had not promise us a smooth ride as we journey through life, but he has promise us a safe landing. Sometimes we find ourselves being down when we face an opposition, financial crises or affliction. The scripture assured us of God’s promise that, God will not let us be tempted more than what we can bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13
David was in distress when all his household and belonging were taken captive. David remember he has a Father he could run to. As we journey through life. What is our reaction to life challenges? Do we struggle through it or we find strength in God by running to him? In times of difficulties and storms of life we must learn to encourage ourselves in the Lord even when we don’t find encouragement from people around.
David also inquiried. ShalI we go?
Many times we complicate issue the more when we don’t ask guidance from God. Our strength will surely fail us. For by strength shall no man prevail. As we learn to trust God, seek guidance from him. He will surly guide us just as he guided David and told him to pursue and overtake and recover.
