When Your Light Is Down, Look To God
When Your Light Is Down, Look To God
Text: MATTHEW 25:1-9
KEY TEXT: But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. MATTHEW 25:9 (KJV)
In a time of challenge, turning to the right person, at the right time is the sweetest thing that could happen to anyone and vice versa.
When we are faced with terrible situation of spiritual weakness, dryness and darkness: a midnight time where darkness is the face of our soul and the lamp of our life is down as a result of shortage in oil, who do we turn to?
The story of the ten virgins is a common one we have often read many times. But now the Lord point to us a critical point we all must learn. Though the five foolish virgins did not have extra oil, yet their foolishness was evident when they turned to their fellow wise ones for help. Their request to have little oil was met with “Not so.”
Beloved, has your past decisions caused you a loss in your spiritual strength? Is your light going down as result of you lacking extra oil, and darkness covering the face of your life? Turn to God and not to fellow men no matter how wise and full they may be spiritually.
When your oil is dry, and your light down, look on to God alone for oil provision, and He will give you abundantly for it is His pleasure and nature.
REFLECTION FOR THE DAY: Is your oil drying and your light going down, ask God to fill you up again.
