Zaccheus Humbled Himself – Children’s Devotional

ZACCHEUS HUMBLED HIMSELF

TEXT: Luke 19:1-10, vs3-4, James 4:6, 10

Zacchaeus didn’t say because he was rich or because of his title, he would arrange for a meeting and send for Jesus to come to his house for a meeting. He humbled himself and showed respect for Jesus because he knew that neither his riches nor his title could save him. He didn’t think He was anything before Jesus and that’s why he could climb up a tree. Can you imagine the governor of your state running on foot and climbing up a tree just so he could see a pastor passing by? Zacchaeus showed by his actions that he had respect for Jesus as his savior and saw himself as nobody before Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that You take away from me every form of pride that will stop me from seeking You. I realize that I am nothing without You, and I’m not ashamed to say that I need You.
