Why Hold Tenaciously Unto Death Eternal?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Death is what everyone seems scared of. No man will hear of death coming and be dancing. However, it is alarming that many see death and still hold on to its bait like a fish hooked to the bait of the fisherman. The scripture says “Every man is tempted and drawn away by his own lust (James 1:14)”. When a man continues to wallow in sin despite several warnings and become unrepentant, such is holding tenaciously to death eternal- Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Let’s take a look at Samson. Despite the angelic announcement concerning his birth, he deviated from all that could give him life and held tenaciously to what was capable of killing him. Samson had died spiritually before the event that transpired with Delilah because he had engaged in several sins and had an unreasonable affinity with the Philistines. But he shrugged off the warning from his parent and continued headlong into lust and rabid desires of the flesh that led to the termination of his destiny and his life.
Judas Iscariot was a disciple of Jesus Christ and an ordained treasurer, but his love for money was so strong to the extent that he sold his Master, the Son of God for thirty pieces of silver. Brethren, what are you holding onto presently that is capable of killing your spiritual life and plunging you into eternal death?
Come to Jesus today, and surrender to Him for He’s the way, the truth, and the life. Break every bond and affinity with the world, sin, and devil. Burn the bridges so you won’t look back like Lot’s wife. Why would you hold tenaciously unto death eternal?
