The Wonders of His Love: The Choice is yours
Text: John 3:16-18, Joshua 24: 14-15, John 14:6, Acts 16:30-32.
Memory Verse: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Ephesians 2:8-9
Have you ever been asked to choose between two things and you got confused; then you asked a friend to help you choose? This can happen to anyone; therefore we should understand that we all have the power of choice called “Freewill”. God gave this to us from the beginning; He wants everyone He created to make their own choices so that no one blames another during judgement.
God created us as free moral agents; so he expects us to make our decisions. He sent His perfect gift to us to reconcile us back to Him after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden but it is up to us to either accept or reject His offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. If we want life; then we have to choose Jesus and if we want death then reject Jesus and his offer of salvation. It is quite simple really; from John 3:16 we understand that whosoever be believes in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have everlasting life.
How to choose life: We can choose life simply by accepting Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour and consciously decide to stop committing sin. John 10:10 tells us that the devil came to steal, kill and destroy; but Christ came that he may give us abundant life. So we can choose life by;
- Asking Jesus to come into your heart and make him your Lord, Saviour and friend.
- Choosing to study the word of God every day Joshua 1:8.
- Praying always 1Thess 5:17.
- Staying away from the wrong people or friends that can lead you to sin 1Corinth 15:33.
- Giving thanks always 1Thess 5:18.
- Join a bible believing church and be active in service to God.
Have a relationship with God; talk to Him about anything and everything.
