Ruth’s uncommon choice

MV: If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures Job 36:11

Text: Ruth 1:3-5, 8-10, 14-16, Ruth 4:13

Joining Naomi to Israel was one of two options Orpah and Ruth had to make and it meant they would live with her and serve her God; the other option was to return to their people and the gods of Moab. Orpah opted to return to her people and to serve the Moabite gods. Ruth had experienced the loss of her husband, loss of her father-in-law and brother-in-law, yet she understood that God was (and is) the only true God that deserved her worship- whether her experiences were pleasant or not. Because of choice to serve God, God showed her favor & God blessed her with a new husband & children.

Declare: Lord, however pleasant or unpleasant the experiences you bring my way, I will serve you and you only – no turning back.
