Romans 4:20,21.
This is a state of absolute and complete conviction about the fulfillment of God’s promises over our lives, ministry, nation, etc. It is the only acceptable posture of a believer while awaiting answers to prayers and supplications- Job 14:14.
From the text, Abraham demonstrated an unusual steadfastness in holding on to God’s promise. The promise of a seed was first given to him in Genesis 13:15,16 after Lot separated from him. This promise was re-affirmed in Genesis 15:4 and 17:4-8. Bible timelines show that it took over 13 years before the fulfillment of the promised birth of Isaac. But Bible records show that throughout this period, Abraham “believed in the Lord”- Genesis 15:6.
God never fails in fulfilling His promises, He would surely and certainly fulfill His divine commitment- Isaiah 55:11. Our time of waiting is meant for us to press further into Him, gain insights into divine timing, and learn patience. We must also understand that God’s promises are conditional. Therefore, we must seek to maintain our commitments so we do not annul the fulfillment of our promised blessings- 1 Samuel 2:30.

| 5 | I know not when my Lord may come, At night or noon-day fair, Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him, Or “meet Him in the air.” |
